As one of the 3 public transport tools (taxi cab, bus, metro), taxis covers the largest group of public audience. Even nowadays in many cities, the taxi cab company still use the old fashion signs showing only the letters "TAXI", or a light box to show some static advertising pictures - it is widely seen. Now, the situation is a little different as some taxi cab companies use the led moving sign to show some rolling messages of advertising which is not impressive at all. It is such a huge waste because the taxi cabs are such good public advertising media in the modern cities! How it would be if there's some kind of taxi cab roof top signs showing the attractive video advertising information? This is not a genius idea because it's so obvious that this would take a revolution on the taxi cab advertising field. But the factors of led display signs' technology and cost are restricting the development of the led taxi video advertising idea.
The first thing is the resolution - if we'd let the led signs have the video advertising capability, the resolution of the led signs must be high. So we have to choose SMD type LEDs for the small pixel pitch.
Then another problem comes - the SMD type LED is not so good at its waterproof ability, although many led display manufacturers claim their SMD LED display could be weather proof. As well, the taxi cab is not driving in home, it's in the street and would be under the direct sunlight, is the led signs' brightness higher enough for outdoor advertising?
At last, which seems to be not big problem, is that what's the out frame of the led taxi cab roof top signs? Yes a good design would be OK, but to be honest how many led display manufacturers pay attention on this? But our led sign has proved to be a very successful case.
